RFMW Ltd. announces design and sales support for an expanded offering of SMD square air coils from Frontier Electronics. The new LSQ1111A – LSQ2929A series offer a higher current rating (up to 5.7 A), an inductance range of 27 to 500 nH and SRF values as high as 2.6 GHz.

Designed primarily for use in RF circuits such as filters, bypassing and/or decoupling signals, these larger coils compliment the already established LSQ0706A –  LSQ0908A series. Square air coils offer advantages over their round coil counterparts such as: higher inductance values for a given L x W x H, higher self-resonant frequencies, lower coil capacitance, and pick and place operation is generally easier. Operational temperature range is -40 °C to 125 °C.

Customer specific designs are available that vary turns, wire gauge, inductance, etc.
