Richardson RFPD, Inc. announced the availability and full design support capabilities for two new GPS helix antennas from Maxtena, Inc.

Both of the new devices are built on Maxtena’s proprietary Helicore® technology, which provides exceptional pattern control, polarization purity and high efficiency in a compact form factor.

The M1575HCT-22P-SMA and M1575HCT-22P-MR are rugged high-performance passive antennas designed for the GPS L1 band and feature integrated SMA connectors. The ultra-light designs are rated IP-67/68, mounted and unmounted, for added protection. The M1575HCT-22P-SMA is compatible with the Sarantel SL1203B mounting interface, and the M1575HCT-22P-MR is compatible with the Sarantel SL1203A mounting interface.

The new helix antennas are ideally suited for applications requiring high quality reception of GPS signals, including vehicle and fleet tracking, military and security, asset tracking, seismic recording instruments, oil and gas, navigation devices, mining equipment, LBS and M2M, and handheld devices.

According to Maxtena, additional key features of the new GPS helix antennas include:
