In the news: 2Q06 data shows US GDP growth about 50% down to 2.5% while inflation jumped at a 2.9% annual rate - outside the Fed' comfort zone. Fed chef Bernanke believes that moderating economic activity will eventually lessen inflation pressure. Wall Street rallied on these news ignoring Newt Gingrich's comments that World War III has begun - perhaps the beginning of a campaign theme of the Republican Party.
