Title: Design of Electrically Small Antennas Using MAGTREX® Magneto-Dielectric Material

Date: November 29, 2023

Time: 8am PT / 11am ET

Sponsored by: Rogers Corporation

Presented by: John Ekis, Market Segment Director and Vitali Judin, Senior Manager, Rogers Corporation

Abstract:
Antenna miniaturization utilizing Magneto-Dielectric materials, has been a focus area in ~100 publications in the past 2 decades. Utilizing a magneto-dielectric material for antenna miniaturization, to the point where antenna gets electrically small, has limited adoption due to lack of dedicated low-loss materials with matched permeability to permittivity ratio. Rogers developed and commercialized a unique ferrite low-loss composite material exhibiting µr ~ ℇr~ of ~6 revolutionizing antenna designs on industrial scale. This webinar will review advantages and trade-offs of Magneto-Dielectric antenna designs. Topics will include:

  • Review of fundamental equations driving miniaturization factor
  • Monopole antenna height reduction evaluation
  • Notch antenna “low end bandwidth” extension evaluation
  • Application Fields for Magneto-Dielectric material solutions
