Title: Design of Electrically Small Antennas Using MAGTREX® Magneto-Dielectric Material
Date: November 29, 2023
Time: 8am PT / 11am ET
Sponsored by: Rogers Corporation
Presented by: John Ekis, Market Segment Director and Vitali Judin, Senior Manager, Rogers Corporation
Antenna miniaturization utilizing Magneto-Dielectric materials, has been a focus area in ~100 publications in the past 2 decades. Utilizing a magneto-dielectric material for antenna miniaturization, to the point where antenna gets electrically small, has limited adoption due to lack of dedicated low-loss materials with matched permeability to permittivity ratio. Rogers developed and commercialized a unique ferrite low-loss composite material exhibiting µr ~ ℇr~ of ~6 revolutionizing antenna designs on industrial scale. This webinar will review advantages and trade-offs of Magneto-Dielectric antenna designs. Topics will include:
John Ekis is the Market Segment Director for Aerospace and Defense at Rogers Corporation. John has over 35 years experience in electronic materials and RF component and subsystems, including 15+ years directly in support of defense electronics. John’s career began in Process Engineering and R&D specializing in Multi-Layer Electronic Ceramics before transitioning into business development and market facing roles. He is currently the Market Segment Director for Aerospace and Defense at Rogers Corporation, where he is working on positioning Advance Material technologies Rogers is developing into key Aerospace and Defense programs.
Vitali Judin holds a Ph.D. in Physics and has a background in RF engineering. He has contributed significantly to fundamental particle accelerator research at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, held a business development role at Siemens AG, and is currently a Senior Manager at Rogers Corporation. With expertise in new business development, among other fields, he supports new product development and commercialization, being a part of Rogers’ driving forces in innovative strategic growth.
