ABI Research reports that Chinese handset vendors will account for over 50 percent of mobile handsets in 2015. Chinese vendors already accounted for 38 percent of mobile handset shipments in 2013 and the ongoing shift in growth to low cost handsets, especially smartphones, will increase their market share.

The worldwide Wi-Fi customer premises equipment market including access points, routers and gateways shipments surpassed 139.1 million in 2013. “802.11ac access point adoption is starting to gain market share, representing 8% of the total consumer access point market in 2013,” says Jake Saunders, VP and practice director at ABI Research.

While the total number of stolen vehicle tracking solutions in use globally will increase from 35.5 million in 2013 to 143 million in 2018, the share of proprietary RF based systems will decrease from 24% in 2013 to 10% in 2018.

Anaren Inc. announced the signing of a definitive merger agreement under which Anaren will be acquired by an affiliate of The Veritas Capital Fund IV L.P. (Veritas Capital) for $28.00 per share in cash. The transaction is valued at approximately $381 million.
