US Army awards Harris HMS Manpack Radio Multi-Award IDIQ contract up to $12.7B

Harris Corp. was one of three awardees of a multi-award IDIQ contract to supply HMS Manpack radios to the U.S. Army. The IDIQ contract consists of a five-year base and an additional five-year option and has a ceiling of $12.7 billion. The Army expects full rate production to begin in the fourth quarter of Harris’ fiscal 2017 and to acquire approximately 65,000 HMS Manpack radios under the IDIQs.

Drone Aviation WASP systems participate in U.S. Army's NIE

 Drone Aviation Corp. (DAC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Drone Aviation Holding Corp., a developer of specialized lighter-than-air aerostats and tethered drones, has announced that aerostat systems provided to the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC)/Army Forces Strategic Command have successfully completed operations in the U.S. Army's Network Integration Experiment ("NIE") 14.2 at Fort Bliss, Texas and White Sands Missile Range, N.M. The Army requested that the two Winch Aerostat Small Platforms (WASP) return to NIE 14.2 as a carryover System following their successful evaluation at NIE 14.1 as a system under evaluation. The Army's NIEs evaluate and integrate current and prospective systems thereby driving changing requirements, procurement, and field recommendations.
