Title: Understanding EVM and Sources of Error
Date: June 7, 2022
Time: 8am PT / 11am ET

Presented by: Aaron Weittenhiller, Senior RF Applications Engineer, Qorvo
Abstract:
As networks push to employ transceivers with higher order modulation schemes that cover increasingly large areas, it is more important than ever that the bit error after digital processing is as low as possible. A key metric of this bit error is Error Vector Magnitude (EVM), which serves as a measure of the error of measured receive signals vs. the ideal locations of the IQ constellation points employed for a particular modulation scheme. Understanding EVM and what factors contribute to EVM degradation are critical to maintaining high bit rate with minimal error.
In this webinar, we will cover topics including:
Presenter Bio:
Aaron Weittenhiller is a Senior RF Applications Engineer who joined Qorvo in 2018 to provide technical support for amplifiers targeting the commercial basestation market. Aaron works predominantly with the transmit chain of the RF frontend, making optimizations for improved device level and system level performance. Aaron has considerable experience measuring device linearity within a digital predistortion (DPD) feedback loop to make improvements to EVM and ACPR. Aaron graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas with a Master of Science degree focused on RF and Microwave Engineering.
