This presentation is intended for engineers who design RF components and systems using tools for simulation and hardware test. A new joint solution approach, developed by Rhode & Schwarz in cooperation with Cadence, will be introduced. The R&S® VSESIM-VSS solution enhances the capabilities of Cadence Visual System Simulator™ (VSS) system design software, widely used to perform EDA simulation. The new solution streamlines the development process of RF components and systems by allowing real-world signals to be used in EDA system simulation and hardware tests. Simulation with complex wideband signals according to latest 5G new radio (NR) or Wi-Fi specifications enables more realistic results than before. Using the same signal creation methods and analysis algorithms as for subsequent hardware tests ensures a direct correlation from early design to implementation verification.
Markus Lörner has a long history in test & measurement since he started as a product manager in 2000 at Rohde & Schwarz focusing on signal generation and power measurements. In his career, he covered many different topics from mobile communications to radar and EW applications. HE graduated in 2000 at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg Germany, with a degree in Electrical Engineering
Dr. Gent Paparisto is a systems and RF engineer experienced in developing and growing high-performance products and complex technical solutions, with a demonstrated ability to lead projects in R&D, product marketing and sales technical support. He is skilled in RF system modeling and simulation, wireless terrestrial and satellite communications, standard communication systems, software/hardware integration and test. Experienced in team and project leadership, customer support and communication, partner relationships. In-depth knowledge of RF and Systems engineering and wireless technologies, solutions, and applications, with extensive experience in the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry and a focus on the AWR Design Environment. Dr. Paparisto was formerly a Sr. systems engineer at Trellisware Technologies and ViaSat, Inc. He obtained his PhD in the field of electrical engineering with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Southern California in 1998.
