Abstract:
Developing RF components and systems using heterogeneous technologies requires powerful EM and multi-physics analyses that are seamlessly integrated within RF simulation and manufacturing design tools. The latest release of Cadence AWR Design Environment V16 provides ready access to the Cadence Clarity™ 3D Solver and Celsius™ Thermal Solver, delivering unconstrained capacity for analysis of large-scale and complex RF systems directly from within the RF design platform. Furthermore, groundbreaking cross-platform workflows from AWR® software to Cadence Allegro® PCB Designer, Virtuoso® System Design Platform, and Virtuoso RF Solution deliver up to a 50% reduction in turnaround time compared to competing solutions.

Presenter Bios:

David Vye is a senior product marketing manager for the AWR products at Cadence, where he helps drive product direction and customer engagements as they relate to RF and microwave component and system design. Mr. Vye has held product and technical marketing positions at Cadence AWR, Ansys and Ansoft. He was the editor and biz dev manager at Microwave Journal from 2007 to 2014. Prior to moving over to technical marketing. He was a Sr MMIC designer and research scientist at Raytheon and MACOM.

Dr. Roshandell is the product marketing director for Cadence Celsius Thermal solver and is a former senior staff engineer at qualcomm and thermal engineer at Broadcom. Prior to joining Broadcom, Dr. Roshandell began her doctoral studies at the univ of cal, Irvine where she received her Phd in Mechanical engineering in 2013. Melika helps drive the Celsius product direction and customer engagements with her considerable expertise in thermal analysis, design and thermal signoff expertise for communication Ics and systems.

Graeme Ritchie. Graeme is an application engineering manager for the team that supports AWR products and RF design at Cadence. In his 15 plus years at AWR, Graeme has held several managerial and director level positions supporting our RFIC design products and IC design flows. Prior to AWR, Graeme was an RFIC design engineer with Powerwave Technologies and Agilent Technologies. In addition to his experience with IC design flows and RF design, Graeme has experience with electrothermal modeling in AWR and is the co-author of An Integrated Electrothermal Design Primer Using an SiGe HBT PA published in the IEEE microwave magazine.

Dr. Padooru is a Sr. principle product engineer at Cadence supporting the Clarity 3D FEM solver and Cadence Sigrity PowerSI tools. “Yash” is a technical expert in electromagnetics, field theory, antennas, EMC/EMI, and PCB/package simulations. Prior to joining Cadence, Yash worked as an ADAS simulation engineer at ANSYS, Antenna Engineer at Vortis Technology, Inc. and as a Graduate Technical Intern with Intel Corporation. He has contributed to eight papers in ISI journals (IEEE Trans on MTT, IEEE Trans on Antennas and Propagation, Physical Review B, New Journal of Physics, Journal of Applied Physics), 22 international conference papers, and a chapter in the book – “Generalized Additional Boundary Conditions and Applications”. Yash received his MS and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering (electromagnetics, microwaves and antennas) from University of Mississippi.

Gus Dallman is a Product Engineer working on AWR/Virtuoso interoperability and AWR design management integration. Gus joined Cadence as part of the AWR acquisition. Before transitioning to the Product Engineering group at Cadence Gus was an AWR Field Application Engineer supporting customers in North America. Preceding Cadence, Gus worked for Qorvo as a PDK Engineer. Prior to Qorvo Gus worked as a CAD Engineer in the Analog Mixed Signal Flows and Methodology group at Freescale Semiconductor and received his BSEE from Arizona State University.

Shane Coffman is a product engineer at Cadence Design Systems focusing on RF solutions. He joined the AWR team in 2012 and has been working closely with customers and R&D to constantly improve RF design flows and ensure customer success. Shane has a BSEE and an MSEE with a focus on RF and microwave from the University of Texas at Dallas.
