5G radios present added challenges to the RF power amplifier designer to realize high efficiency at high bandwidths. The final stage PA is a significant portion of the power consumption of the radio so it is critical to optimize the PA design to achieve high efficiency while simultaneously meeting linearity requirements. GaN is an enabling technology to realize high performance over wide bandwidths required in 5G due to high power density of GaN devices. In this webinar an overview of Doherty PA design with GaN will be covered.
Ebrahim Al Seragi is a Sr. RF Application Engineer at Qorvo. He joined the company in 2019 and is currently working on developing GaN RF solutions for cellular infrastructure and defense customers. This includes Discrete single-ended Power Amplifiers and (final and two stage) Doherty PAs. He previously worked in the RF Group at NXP where he was focused on a multi-stage RFIC for PAs, Microwave heating, and Massive MIMO. Ebrahim has a MSc degree in Electrical Engineering from Arizona State University.
