Asif Anwar, Director Strategy Analytics

Asif Anwar is a 20 year plus veteran analyst at Strategy Analytics, and transferred over to the Global Automotive Practice team in 2019. His current focus at Strategy Analytics is on supporting the automotive industry through the Powertrain, Body, Safety & Chassis (PBCS) Service coverage at Strategy Analytics, providing thought leadership and analysis at the system, semiconductor and sensor levels, as well as looking at the broader whole value chain and tracking emerging opportunities.

With a career that spans both engineering and marketing roles in the metals, minerals and electronics industries, Asif has been providing insights and analysis in the advanced electronics markets for over 20 years, covering wireless networks, fiber optic networks, millimeter wave communications, radar, EW and optoelectronic applications. After nearly two decades of immersion in the field, Asif is an acknowledged expert and thought leader in the compound semiconductor industry.

A member of the IEEE (including AESS, MTTS and ComSoc) as well as the IChemE, Asif graduated from the University of Teesside, UK in 1993 with a B.Eng Honours degree in Chemical Engineering, before doing Ph.D research on fatty acids.

Dr. Farzad Inanlou, CTO, Radar and mmWave Systems, Automotive, Industrial and Multi-market Business Unit

Farzad M.D. Inanlou is CTO for Radar and mmWave Systems at Global Foundries AIM (Automotive, Industrial, and Multi-market) Strategic Business Unit. Farzad joined GF from PARC (Palo Alto Research Center) where he managed a team of engineers and physicists working on mmWave imaging radars, and radar-cross-section-cooperative targets with frequency-selective surfaces, through concept, design, and implementation.

Prior to PARC, Farzad worked at NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory where he was a radar RF/Microwave/mmWave Design and Technology Development Lead and an Advanced Radar Concepts Principal Investigator. At JPL Farzad led the design of several radar subsystems on multiple projects including the NISAR flagship mission, a Tri-band (W, Ku, Ka) small-sat phased array project, and a 94-GHz planetary landing radar concept, from 2014 to 2018. Farzad has also held positions at Qualcomm and Boston Scientific.

Dr. Inanlou earned his doctoral degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology where his thesis was on the development of innovative RF/mmW transceiver approaches both at the system level and at the MMIC level for advanced low power autonomous applications. While there, he was a President’s Fellow and an NSF Fellow, and also served as a one-year principal lecturer for the “Circuits and Electronics” course. Farzad has published multiple research articles in refereed high-impact journals, presented papers at competitive international conferences and workshops, and is a reviewer for a number of major journals.

Dr. Noam Arkind, Co-founder and CTO

Noam has over 10 years of experience in R&D and holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the Robotics Lab at Weizmann Institute of Science. Prior to Arbe, Noam has led the algorithm development at Taptica and the SpaceIL control system.

Uhnder

Curtis Davis, CTO and Cofounder

Curtis Davis is CTO and Cofounder of Uhnder, Inc., where he leads the development of innovations in digital radar to advance safety systems for next-generation mobility applications, such as ADAS, automated last-mile delivery vehicles, autonomous trucking, and shipping port automation.

As Cofounder, Curtis was instrumental in defining Uhnder’s strategy of combining digital coded modulation (DCM), complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (CMOS) technology, and advanced digital processing techniques to give the company a significant advantage over analog radar sensors. Today, Uhnder’s breakthrough sensors are robust against self-interference or cross interference from other radars, enable unrivaled angular resolution in a large field of view (FOV), and deliver High Contrast Resolution (HCR) to resolve juxtaposed objects previously undetectable by conventional analog radar sensors.

Prior to founding Uhnder in 2015, Davis cofounded several other successful technology ventures, including MulticoreWare, a software and systems integration company providing heterogeneous multicore (h-multicore) solutions; AGEIA Technologies, acquired by NVIDIA in 2008 and becoming the PhysX real-time physics engine for the Nvidia GameWorks software suite; and Celox Networks, where he developed the industry’s leading-edge router able to deliver high-bandwidth applications with QoS.

Davis earned his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in electrical engineering from Washington State University.

Rohde & Schwarz

Holger Gryska, Automotive Market Segment Manager Responsible for ADAS Sensor Test

Since 2019 Holger Gryska has been the Automotive Market Segment Manager responsible for ADAS sensor test at Rohde & Schwarz. Prior to that, he had more than 20 years’ experience in the semiconductor industry working with complex ICs for automotive applications, especially advanced driver assistance, in various roles such as product management, marketing, business development, product definition and implementation. In his current role, Holger drives Rohde & Schwarz’s solutions to help customers meet their test and measurement challenges on the way towards autonomous driving.
