The performance of microwave and millimeter-wave antennas plays a key role in the application areas of 5G and satellite communication. The numerical study of such high-speed communication devices before fabrication and testing through electromagnetics simulation helps shorten the development cycle and time to market.
In this presentation, you will get a demonstration in the COMSOL Multiphysics® software of how to model a variety of antenna arrays and evaluate the performance efficiently, including a:
- Phased antenna array
- Hexagonal antenna array
- Simplified antenna array with a periodic unit cell
We will go over choosing physics, proper boundary conditions, and material properties, followed by solving and postprocessing. We will also discuss how to simplify numerically complicated RF simulations using efficient modeling techniques.
