Eric Higham, Director of the Advanced Semiconductor Applications and the Advanced Defense Systems Services

Eric Higham is Director of the Advanced Semiconductor Applications and the Advanced Defense Systems Services at Strategy Analytics. He develops forecasts, insights and analysis to provide an understanding of the dynamics and trends for processes, materials and components in a variety of commercial and defense markets. He is an industry veteran with more than 42 years of semiconductor experience. Previously, he performed a variety of engineering, business development, marketing and management functions for M/A-COM, MicroDynamics and Raytheon. Eric holds an MSEE degree from Northeastern University and a BSEE degree from Cornell University.


Alastair Upton, Chief Strategy Officer

Alastair Upton is the Chief Strategy Officer for Anokiwave’s mmW businesses that includes 5G wireless, satellite communications, aerospace and defense, test and measurements, and multi-markets. Alastair has 37 years’ experience in the semiconductor industry covering both defense electronics and high-volume commercial applications at companies such as GE Aerospace, Lockheed Martin, RF Micro Devices (now Qorvo), MACOM and IDT. Prior to Anokiwave, Alastair was Sr. Director of RF product marketing at IDT and previously VP, Engineering and business unit director of the carrier networks business unit at MACOM, and general manager of the digital cellular product line at RFMD (now Qorvo). Alastair earned his MS Executive Engineering at the University of Pennsylvania and his B.Sc. Electrical Engineering at the University of Leeds in England.

Pivotal Commware

Eric Black, CTO

Eric Black was a founding member of Pivotal Commware and currently serves as the company’s Chief Technology Officer. After receiving his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon in 2010, Eric worked on several DARPA and other defense projects at Boeing Research and Technology. His interests lie in the design, fabrication, and evaluation of metamaterial-enhanced electromagnetic systems.

Sivers Semiconductors

Erik Öjefors, CTO

Erik Öjefors joined Sivers Semiconductors (previous Sivers IMA) in October 2011 as a senior mmWave RFIC engineer and was appointed CTO in October 2020.

He received his Ph.D. degree in monolithic mmWave antenna technology at Uppsala University and has pursued a career in mmWave and terahertz RFIC research at several European universities and companies. He is the co-recipient of the 2007 IEEE AP-S R.W.P. King Award, the 2010 European Microwave Prize, and the 2018 IEEE RFIC Best Industry Paper Award.


Jeff Shamblin, Lead Engineer – Millimeter Wave Projects

Previously Jeff served as VP of engineering at Taoglas and was responsible for management and direction of all engineering teams and R&D activities within the company. Prior to Taoglas, he spent 12 years as CTO and chief scientist at Ethertronics. He also spent five years in engineering roles at two RFID start-ups, SCS Corp. and Claridy Solutions, and 22 years working as a senior antenna engineer in aerospace for Lockheed Martin and Northrop designing antenna systems for aircraft, missile and ground station applications. Jeff holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from California State University-Northridge and has completed post-graduate studies in radar systems. He has 86 issued patents related to antenna technology and communication systems in his name. Among his many accomplishments, he led a small R&D group to develop a band-switching antenna to cover wide LTE frequency bands for laptop applications, and also was part of a small team that developed the first beam-steering antenna system for a Wi-Fi laptop.


Dr. Amr Haj-Omar, Wireless - Market Segment Leader

Dr. Amr Haj-Omar is the Wireless Market Leader at Tektronix, focusing on 5G sub7GHz and mmWave innovation for testing MIMO systems. His experience is extensive, from designing, to testing RF communication systems, to introducing products to market.
