Event Description

Technical Education Webinar Series

Title: Efficient High-Frequency EM Simulations

Date: March 25, 2021

Time: 11am PT / 2pm ET

Sponsored by: COMSOL

Presented by: Jiyoun Munn, Technical Product Manager for the RF Module at COMSOL

High-frequency electromagnetics phenomena can be addressed through different ways combined with varying types of study, even in a single numerical method. In this webinar, we will review various analysis methods in finite element method simulations to compute efficiently resonant modes and frequencies, input impedance, S-parameters, far-field patterns, and more. We will also introduce examples showing model order reduction techniques and expand the conventional EM simulation to include other physics phenomena. The variety of problem-solving techniques helps engineers and researchers design conventional devices, such as antennas; filters; couplers; power dividers; waveguides; coplanar waveguide structures; and applications for 5G, IoT, high-speed communication components, and satellite communication.
