Title: Latest Trends and Technology in Phased Arrays
Date: October 27, 2020
Time: 10:00am PT / 1:00pm ET
Presented by: Rick Sturdivant, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer, MPT, Inc.
Phased arrays have traditionally been used for military radar systems. While this remains a significant and growing use for phased arrays, new applications have emerged. In fact, phased arrays are being used or planned for use on a wide range of systems such as 5G, satellite communication, and ground stations. As a result, significant investment has occurred in developing innovative phased array solutions. In this talk, Dr. Sturdivant will describe phased arrays, their key features, solutions, and latest innovations being developed.
This talk will provide an up to date overview of these recent trends with a contemplation on what’s in store for the future. Specific topics include:
Dr. Rick Sturdivant is a recognized expert in phased arrays, transmit/receive modules, and microwave electronic packaging. He is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer at MPT, Inc., which specializes in the development of phased array systems. Prior to MPT, he worked for Raytheon Corporation and Multilink and has started several successful technology companies. Dr. Sturdivant is the author of multiple books and over 50 articles. His latest book is Systems Engineering of Phased Arrays (Artech House, 2018) and he holds 7 U.S. patents. He earned a Ph.D. in Systems Engineering from Colorado State University.
