Agilent Technologies’ Advanced Design System Selected by Putnam RF

August 13, 2010

Agilent Technologies Inc. announced that its Advanced Design System (ADS) software has been selected by Putnam RF Components Inc. for use in development of high-power, broadband radio frequency products. Putnam RF is an industry leader in the development of high-power, broadband RF solutions found primarily in military communications and countermeasure systems.

Prior to using ADS, Putnam RF’s product development typically required several design iterations, which consumed valuable time and resources. Using ADS, Putnam RF can now accurately simulate complex product designs with a single iteration and quickly bring them to market while others are still in development.

“We are committed to developing products in a fraction of the industry-standard lead time,” said David Kane, Chief Executive Officer, Putnam RF. “ADS helps us achieve this goal by allowing us to quickly simulate our advanced designs. This capability, coupled with its accuracy, speed and capacity, are key reasons why we selected ADS and its 3D Planar EM simulator, Momentum. With each new design we undertake, the software reconfirms its value. We even revisited legacy designs to prove out the software’s precision. Without fail, its simulation accuracy impresses us every time.”

“We are pleased that Putnam RF selected ADS for the development of their high-power, broadband RF products,” said Joe Civello, ADS Product Manager, with Agilent’s EEsof EDA organization. “The accuracy and speed of our software is enabling them to bring quality product to market ahead of the competition.”
