Hittite's SPDT T/R Switch Ideal for High Power Transceivers

December 31, 2009

Hittite Microwave Corp., a supplier of complete MMIC-based solutions for communication and military markets, announces the release of a new GaAs PHEMT SPDT (Single Pole, Double Throw) MMIC T/R (Transmit/Receive) Switch that is ideal for automotive telematics, private mobile radio (PMR), cellular/3G, WiMAX/4G and test equipment applications from DC to 4 GHz.

The HMC784MS8GE is a low loss, high linearity GaAs PHEMT 10 W SPDT MMIC switch for use in transmit/receive applications, which require very low distortion at high input power levels. The HMC784MS8GE can control signals from DC to 4 GHz, and provides exceptional P1dB and IP3 performance of +40 and +62 dBm, respectively. With its superior low distortion at high input power levels, and its fast switching characteristics, the HMC784MS8GE is ideal for modern basestation infrastructure applications. On-chip circuitry allows single positive supply operation from +3 to +8 VDC at very low DC current, while the control inputs are compatible with most CMOS logic outputs. The HMC784MS8GE is conveniently housed in a RoHS compliant, MSOP-8G leaded package, and complements Hittiteā€™s broad line of SPST and SPNT switch products with frequency coverage up to 86 GHz.
