AWR and UMS Offer Enhanced GaAs MMIC Process Design Kits

December 9, 2009

AWR and United Monolithic Semiconductors (UMS) announced the availability of enhanced process design kits (PDK) for the UMS PH15 and PH25 advanced gallium arsenide (GaAs) foundry processes. These enhanced PDKs enable designers to take full advantage of the industry-leading process capabilities of UMS within AWR’s 2009 Microwave Office® design suite, including its latest technologies such as iNets™, AC0E™, AXIEM™ and ICED DRC.

“Users of these enhanced PDKs will not only be able to fully exploit the latest features within Version 2009 of AWR’s software,” said Eric Leclerc, Foundry Manager of UMS. “They can also take advantage of the fact that these PDKs are now release-independent from AWR’s own software upgrade cycle.”

“UMS is a leading-edge European foundry with a rapidly-growing presence in Asia Pacific and especially Japan,” said Sherry Hess, Vice President of Marketing at AWR. “With a significant portion of AWR’s customers located in Europe and Asia Pacific, our partnership with UMS is extremely beneficial as it provides a high-quality, non-ITAR foundry solution to mutual customers.”
