WIN Semiconductors Releases 0.25 μm Design Kits

May 26, 2009

WIN Semiconductors announced the availability of a set of design kits for its PP25 family of 0.25 μm optical gate PHEMT technologies for use with Advanced Design System (ADS) EDA software from Agilent Technologies.

"These kits offer an improved circuit design environment for Ku- and Ka-band applications. The PP25-xx design kits support scalable nonlinear active models in addition to models for passive components and discontinuities. Backend support for layout and DRC is also part of this PDK," said Gary St. Onge, Vice President of Technical Marketing at WIN Semiconductors.

“WIN PP25-00 PDK is another successful collaboration between WIN and Agilent,” said Avery Chung, Foundry Program Manager of Agilent’s EEsof EDA division. “These PDKs again demonstrate our strong commitment in response to the fast-growing market demand from WIN’s existing and potential customers. We will continue to work collaboratively to benefit our mutual customers with the latest integrated design solution and advanced MMIC design flow.”

“With these kits, our customers can enjoy an integrated schematic/layout/EM design flow using Momentum, the industry-leading 3D planar EM simulator, industry proven Design-for-Manufacturing (DFM) capabilities inside ADS, and the recently upgraded DRC. These capabilities are just some of the reasons why the majority of MMIC designers choose ADS to increase performance, consistency, and yield,” continued Chung.

The WIN PP25-00 kit also supports a complete ADS front-to-back end MMIC design flow with scalable devices, native design rule checker (DRC) and latest layout capabilities in ADS 2009, which is the latest release from Agilent EEsof.
