Northrop Grumman Receives Two Contracts for AN/APN Radar Program

December 1, 2008

Northrop Grumman Corp. has been awarded two separate contracts from the US Air Force Warner Robins Air Logistics Center to provide navigation and weather radars and logistical support for the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves and Air National Guard.

The Northrop Grumman AN/APN-241 provides high resolution ground maps, predictive windshear, accurate low level navigation, unprecedented safety-of-flight measures and critical situational awareness, enabling precision aerial drops. The radar contract is valued at $33.4 M, while the contract for continued logistical support is valued at $9.9 M.

“These two contract awards are evidence of the continued confidence the Air Force has in our products and services as we continue to support the warfighter,” said Guido Sottosanti, Jr., program manager of the AN/APN-241 at Northrop Grumman.

Manufacturing of the radars will take place at company facilities in Norwalk and Baltimore. Deliveries are expected to be completed in 2011.

AN/APN-241 radars have been delivered and installed in over 200 C-130Hs for the US Air Force, Air Force Reserves and Air National Guard. Northrop Grumman has delivered 700 equivalent shipsets of AN/APN-241 hardware in support of C130s and C27s operating around the world today.
