Australian Acquisition to Aid Indra’s Expansion

November 5, 2007

Indra, a leader in information technologies and defense systems, has acquired the Australian Interscan Navigation Systems (INS), whose main activity is the design and integration of ground-based infrastructure support equipment for the aerospace transportation sector (radio navigational aids). The company's turnover amounted to €6.4 M in the last fiscal year, 2006.

INS was created in 2000 and has become an international benchmark in its field, thanks to the high technological level of its proprietary solutions and developments. Since then the company has conducted more than 800 implementations worldwide, with its main markets being Australia and China. Interscan is especially acknowledged in the Asia-Pacific region, where it has developed initiatives in Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Nepal and New Zealand, among others.

It is believed that Interscan’s prestige and commercial force in the Asia-Pacific region, together with Indra’s offering, will be key elements in achieving Indra’s objective of developing a substantial market in this area of the world. The region is seen as having great market potential and as a key area for advancing the company’s international growth strategy.
