400 W, X-Band, Solid-State Pulsed Transmitter

September 29, 2020

RFHIC (Radio Frequency Hybrid Integrated Circuit), a global leader in designing and manufacturing GaN RF and microwave products is introducing its latest 400 W, X-Band solid-state transmitter designed for high power radar drivers and weather radar system applications.

RFHIC is the first and only GaN RF device to sub-system solution provider in the world. Offering customers with a wide selection of COTS and customizable products within the range of DC to 40 GHz, with power levels capable up to multi-megawatts.

The RRT9397400-560 delivers 400W of pulsed output power operating at 9,300 to 9,700 MHz, with a duty cycle of 10 percent. RFHIC’s GaN solid-state transmitter is designed to replace outdated and uncontrollable traveling wave tube amplifiers (TWTAs) thus providing exceptional thermal stability and reliability. This compact and lightweight transmitter is 19” wide and 2U high and can be installed on the radar mast simplifying system integration. Due to its scalable architecture, this rack-mountable transmitter is power buildable in case requirements grow. Design modifications are welcomed and available upon request.
