Raytheon Executive Elected to National Academy of Engineering

Raytheon Company’s Mark Russell, vice president of engineering, technology and mission assurance, has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering (NAE). He was selected for his leadership in developing radar systems that enhance national security and safety.

NAE members honor those who have made outstanding contributions to engineering research, practice or education, “the pioneering of new and developing fields of technology, making major advancements in traditional fields of engineering or developing/implementing innovative approaches to engineering education.”

Election to the NAE is among the highest professional distinctions accorded an engineer, the culmination of a yearlong process by the NAE, whose members total only 2,309 U.S. and 281 international members.

Responsible for 45,000 employees working on more than 8,000 Raytheon programs, Russell provides leadership in technology and research, engineering, operations, performance excellence, programs security, Raytheon Six Sigma™ and mission assurance.
