Anokiwave Expands in San Diego to Accommodate Growth
Anokiwave has expanded its San Diego operation to a new facility, tripling its floor space and lab capabilities and adding a mmWave lab to support active antenna and IC design and test. The additional room will support doubling its San Diego workforce.
To fully characterize the performance of Anokiwave’s products in customer environments, Anokiwave’s new facility houses a sophisticated mmWave lab with an anechoic chamber, which will support development of phased array antennas for 5G, satellite communications and radar applications to 50 GHz. The lab enables complex antennas and components to be tested and evaluated in all operating modes, to ensure customer requirements are met.
The move to Sorrento Towers South, in San Diego’s Sorrento Mesa tech hub, was completed earlier this month. This expansion follows a similar expansion of Anokiwave’s design center in Billerica, Massachusetts, and opening an office in Taiwan. The company plans to expand in additional locations for engineering and customer support.
“Last year, we celebrated 20 years of being in business and doubled our space in Massachusetts. Now the expansion in San Diego just marks the steep growth trajectory that Anokiwave is on,” said Nitin Jain, Anokiwave’s founder and chief technology officer. “This new facility and a larger team will allow us to serve the market at a much broader scale and in more impactful ways than ever before.”
Supporting Anokiwave’s corporate goal of environmental sustainability, Sorrento Towers South is being recertified as a LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) facility. It reflects environmental practices such as water efficiency, waste and e-waste recycling and green construction.
