Anokiwave’s Dr. Nitin Jain Named IEEE Fellow

January 18, 2019

Dr. Nitin Jain, Anokiwave founder and CTO, has been named an IEEE Fellow for leadership in the development of physics-based models for millimeter wave SoC ICs.

The IEEE Fellow grade recognizes unusual and outstanding professional distinction. It is awarded at the initiative of the IEEE Board of Directors following a rigorous nomination and evaluation process. Individuals receiving this distinction have demonstrated extraordinary contributions to one or more fields of electrical engineering or related sciences. The total number of Fellows selected in any one year does not exceed one tenth of one percent of the IEEE's total voting membership.

Under Dr. Jain’s leadership, an extremely high percentage of Anokiwave’s highly integrated silicon ICs have achieved first-pass design success, showing his attention to detail, electromagnetic simulation ability and the integrity of his modeling of millimeter wave, RF, analog and digital circuits — something rarely accomplished in this market.

“Nitin, the co-founder of Anokiwave with his wife Deepti, has had a long history of creative and innovative work and is one of the best engineers with whom I have had the pleasure of working during my career. He is skilled at all levels of engineering, from the transistor level to the microwave system engineering level. This award is quite well deserved, and both our company and the industry are better due to the contributions made by Nitin. We are all very proud of him.” — Robert Donahue, Anokiwave CEO

Jain earned his B.Tech degree in electronics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, in 1986, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York in 1989 and 1991, respectively. He has over 37 publications in international conferences and journals and more than 35 granted and pending U.S. patents.

The IEEE is the world’s leading professional association for advancing technology for humanity. Through its 400,000 members in 160 countries, the IEEE is a leading authority on a wide variety of areas, ranging from aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power and consumer electronics.
