Anritsu Releases 5G NR Test Solution

Anritsu Co. introduces three software packages for its Signal Analyzer MS269x series that support measurements of RF Tx characteristics of 5G New Radio (NR) base stations and mobile devices. Installing the 5G Measurement Software (MX269051A) and NR TDD sub-6 GHz options (MX269051A-011 and MX269051A-061) in the signal analyzers creates a cost-efficient and flexible solution for chipset and device makers, and mobile operators to verify sub-6 GHz equipment being developed for the rollout of 5G.

The new options expand the capabilities of the MS269xA, making it a single-instrument solution to verify legacy 4G LTE and LTE-Advanced products, as well as emerging 5G NR designs. Featuring excellent level accuracy and dynamic range, the Signal Analyzer MS269xA series has the performance necessary to accurately conduct critical measurements on 5G products. To further reduce the cost-of-test, an optional built-in vector signal generator is available to conduct additional measurements on sub-6 GHz designs.

With the options installed, the MS269xA analyzers support 3GPP-compliant sub-6 GHz uplink and downlink signals and specify 1 component carrier (1CC) up to a bandwidth of 100 MHz. With the software, the analyzers can conduct EVM measurements of < 0.5 percent using wide-dynamic-range performance. EVM measurements are optimized by a built-in, one-button Auto-Range function in the signal analyzers. Other key measurements on 5G NR TDD sub-6 GHz signals that can be made are Tx power and frequency error. 

The MS269xA series is the ideal solution for accurate signal analysis on 4G and 5G signals. Using a patented calibration process, as well as the multipoint amplitude calibration and phase calibration of the analyzers, a level accuracy of ±0.5 dB across a 6 GHz span can be achieved. The analyzers also feature DANL of -151 dBm/Hz from 6 to 10 GHz, for increased dynamic range and improved measurement sensitivity. The Signal Analyzer MS269xA series supports a standard analysis bandwidth of 31.25 MHz that can be extended to 62.5/125 MHz with optional hardware.
