Micro Crystal Offers Oscillator Module in Smaller Package

March 13, 2017

Micro Crystal, a leading provider for quartz crystals, oscillators, OCXOs and Real-Time Clocks now offers the popular 32.768 kHz oscillator module in the advanced tiny package of 1.2 mm by 2.0 mm by 0.7 mm. This hermetically sealed package hosts the integrated circuit together with the XTAL. It withstands harsh environmental condition.

Besides the large supply voltage range it features very low power consumption. In active mode it draws as low as 1 μA driving one CMOS load. Since the oscillator also runs in standby mode (i = 0.45 μA) the accurate frequency is available instantaneously as there is no delayed startup time.

The wide supply voltage range of 1.6 to 5.5 V combined with the large operating temperature range of -40°C to + 85°C, low power consumption and small package size makes it ideal for future applications including: Wearables and activity Bands, IoT, smart pens, industrial computing, single-board controllers, health care devices, clock sources (i.e. for sleep mode Bluetooth LE). Also, automotive grade devices are suitable for: Emergency call units and remote keyless entry systems.
