Fairview Microwave releases family of coaxial packaged bidirectional amplifiers

August 17, 2016

Fairview Microwave Inc., a supplier of on-demand microwave and RF components, offers a line of coaxial packaged bi-directional amplifiers used for transmitting and receiving RF signals in popular applications including L and S band radar, commercial air traffic control, weather and earth observation systems, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), unmanned ground vehicles, military radio and satellite communications.

These bi-directional amplifiers from Fairview Microwave are designed for use in both commercial and military applications and will support any signal type and modulation format such as 3G and 4G telecom, WLAN, OFDM, DVB and CW/AM/FM. Fairview’s bi-directional amplifiers offer high power density, efficiency and linearity in small lightweight environmentally sealed packages with SMA connectors. These units also feature a quick-connect circular locking connector for DC and control functions and each design uses a single voltage supply with voltage regulation.

Fairview’s bi-directional RF amplifier line consists of two narrow-band models that operate in L-Band from 1.35 to 1.39 GHz and S-Band from 2.4 to 2.5 GHz. Also available is a “general purpose” broadband model that covers 30 MHz to 3 GHz. These designs produce high quality transmit signals across 802.11 wireless networks while amplifying received signals with low noise figure of 2.5 dB to produce the highest possible data rates. Typical transmit gain levels for these amplifiers range from 20 to 23 dB with ±0.5 dB gain flatness. Another key feature is fast switching capability (1 microsecond typical) between Transmit (Tx) and Receive (Rx) states.

“Fairview’s new line of in-stock coaxial packaged bi-directional amplifiers are truly unique components that exhibit fast Tx and Rx switching capabilities, long transmission range and highly efficient operation which make these units desirable to engineers and designers of 2-way communications systems,” explains Brian McCutcheon, Vice President and General Manager at Fairview Microwave.

Fairview’s new bi-directional amplifiers are in-stock and ready to ship immediately. You can view these new components by visiting https://www.fairviewmicrowave.com/rf-products/bi-directional-amplifiers.html directly. Fairview Microwave can be contacted at +1-972-649-6678.
