Richardson RFPD introduces industry's first high-power, surface mount, dual directional couplers

Richardson RFPD Inc. announced the availability and full design support capabilities for a selection of broadband surface mount directional couplers from Innovative Power Products Inc.

These unique directional couplers offer low insertion loss, high directivity, low VSWR and high power capability in a small, surface mount package. They are available in narrow- and ultra-broad-bandwidths, making them ideal for power amplifiers, antenna feeds, or anywhere a small sample of the RF signal is required. Power ratings for the couplers range from 30 to 300 Watts, with frequency ranges from 1 MHz to 4200 MHz.

“These new couplers represent an important step forward for standard directional couplers and the industry,” said Mark Vitellaro, Director of Strategic Marketing, Richardson RFPD. “Their power handling and electrical performance enable these lower cost, surface mount designs to replace large, bulky, connectorized and expensive devices.”
