Mercury Systems names senior VP of strategy & corporate development

Mercury Systems, Inc., a leading provider of affordable, commercially developed, open sensor processing systems and services for critical commercial, defense and intelligence applications, announced that, effective November 17, 2014, Michael Ruppert will be joining the company as senior vice president, strategy and corporate development, reporting to Mercury’s president and chief executive officer, Mark Aslett. Mr. Ruppert will be responsible for Mercury’s corporate development activities, including strategy, planning and mergers and acquisitions.

Mr. Ruppert brings 15 years of investment banking experience spanning mergers and acquisitions, capital formation, strategy development and execution, as well as transaction execution for a wide range of companies in the aerospace and defense markets. Over his career, he has provided strategic guidance and consultation on many marquee public company transactions in the defense industry in addition to advising public and private companies and investors on transactions of all types and sizes.

Prior to joining Mercury, Mr. Ruppert was the Co-Founder and Managing Partner of RSPartners, LLC, a boutique M&A advisory firm focused on the aerospace and defense industries. Previously, Mr. Ruppert was a Managing Director at UBS Securities where he led the Defense and Government IT effort from 2011 to 2013. Before that he focused on aerospace and defense mergers & acquisitions at both Lehman Brothers and Lazard. Mr. Ruppert holds a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce and a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Virginia's Darden School of Business.
