DAC and two ADCs ideal for 3G/4G cellular infrastructure, A&D and instrumentation applications

Richardson RFPD Inc. announced the availability and full design support capabilities for three converters from Analog Devices Inc.

The new devices include a digital-to-analog converter, an analog-to-digital converter, and a dual analog-to-digital converter. All of the devices are suitable for a range of applications, including 3G/4G cellular infrastructure, aerospace and defense, and instrumentation.

The AD9144 is a quad, 16-bit, high dynamic range DAC with a maximum sample rate of 2.8 GSPS that permits a multicarrier generation up to the Nyquist frequency. An optional 3-wire or 4-wire serial port interface (SPI) provides for programming or read-back of many internal parameters. Full-scale output current can be programmed over a typical range of 13.9mA to 27.0mA. The AD9144 is available in an 88-lead LFCSP.

The AD9625 is a 12-bit monolithic sampling ADC that operates at conversion rates of up to 2.5 GSPS and is designed for sampling wide bandwidth analog signals up to the second Nyquist zone. The combination of wide input bandwidth, high sampling rate, and excellent linearity makes the AD9625 ideally suited for spectrum analyzers, data acquisition systems, and a wide assortment of military electronics applications, such as radar and electronic countermeasures. It is available in a thermally-enhanced 196-Ball BGA.

The AD9680 is a dual, 14-bit, 1 GSPS ADC with an on-chip buffer and sample-and-hold circuit designed for low power, small size, and ease of use. It is designed for sampling wide bandwidth analog signals of up to 2 GHz. The AD9680 includes buffered inputs with programmable input termination for easier filter design and implementation, and a flexible SPI controls various product features and functions to meet specific system requirements. It is available in a 64-lead LFCSP.

According to ADI, additional key features of the new converters include:
