PCS Handset VCOs
The MW 400 series VCOs are designed for use in applications where small size and low cost are critical. The versatile VCOs are available in frequency ranges from 1 to 2.8 GHz in bandwidths of 75 to 100 MHz. Tuning voltage is 0.5 to 4.7 V. Size: 0.315" x 0.236" x 0.075".

Small Footprint VCOs
The models PVF-251 and PVF-301 VCOs are designed for use in security, keyless entry and remote control applications. Both VCOs have a 5 V supply voltage and a low phase noise of –93 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset. The units are based on the company’s small footprint, surface-mount package dimension of 0.30" x 0.30" x 0.16". The model PVF-251 covers a frequency range from 240 to 272 MHz with a tuning voltage of 0 to 4.5 V. The model PVF-301 targets the 310 to 335 MHz range with a 0 to 4.5 V tuning voltage.

Fixed-frequency SAW Oscillator
The model HO2000 1 GHz, fixed-frequency SAW oscillator features a typical output power of +10 dBm, phase noise at 10 kHz offset of –130 dBc/Hz, power supply of +5 V/40 mA and an operating temperature range of –20° to +70°C. Packaged as a small-size, 14-pin DIP device, the oscillator is designed for use in high frequency signal generators and frequency multiplier applications. Price: less than $100 each (100).

Dual-output VCO
This dual-output VCO is provided in a 0.5" x 0.5" surface-mount package and incorporates one output (F) at the fundamental frequency of 2.6 to 2.9 GHz, and the second output (2F) at twice the frequency of 5.2 to 5.8 GHz. To maximize signal-to-noise ratio at the 2F output, an internal highpass filter is connected directly to the fundamental oscillator output (F), suppressing this signal greater than 20 dB below the 2F signal. The 2F signal is then amplified to greater than 7 dBm. Phase noise at the 2F output is greater than –82 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz offset. Load pull for either port is less than 8 MHz into a 2:1 mismatch.
