Microwave technology leader sets up U.S. subsidiary and announces CEO

April 24, 2013

TMD Technologies Ltd., an innovative leader in microwave technology, has opened a US subsidiary and appointed Mike Farley as its CEO. Based in Baltimore, MD, TMD Technologies LLC will offer a significant benefit to U.S. customers, bringing local technical support, dealing with export compliance and handling classified interchanges.

TMD has sold a large number of microwave products to the U.S. over many years and the UK based company has recognised the desirability of having a North American office to service its U.S. customers more efficiently and effectively.

Mike Farley joins TMD with an extensive background in bringing international technological solutions to the U.S. defence market.  Mr Farley will implement a Special Security Agreement with the Defense Security Service, which allows TMD to execute on classified contracts with U.S. security cleared personnel.

Mr Farley stated: "TMD's success in the U.S. radar and EW market has been exceptional.  Enhancing TMD's US support presence to better serve our customers is extremely exciting."

"The USA is a very important market for TMD Technologies," said Graham Brown, Sales Director. "I am delighted with the appointment of Mike Farley, who has a wealth of relevant skills and experience and who will add real value to our U.S. business base."

When the office is fully operational later this year, it will provide technical and commercial support for U.S. customers, and any repair / support activity required will also be carried out in the U.S. facility.

The establishment of the new facility comes at the time when TMD Technologies celebrates the shipment of its 1500th Power Amplifier Module (PAM) to the U.S.

TMD Technologies is one of the world's leading designers and manufacturers of specialised transmitters, MPMs, high voltage power supplies and microwave tubes for radar and EW applications. The multiple Queen's Award winning company also produces a range of advanced commercial microwave amplifiers for EMC testing, scientific and medical applications.
