Training grant leads to promotions at Laser Services

April 16, 2013

Laser Services Inc. (www.laserservicesusa.com), a precision laser job shop located in Westford, MA, announces the promotion of three of its employees as a direct result of receiving a Workforce Training Grant in 2012. They were awarded the training grant last April to train employees in Lean Manufacturing and other advanced manufacturing techniques. As a result of this training, Laser Services has significantly improved a number of processes including scheduling, planning, tooling, and production.

Solinka Potter has been promoted from the order entry/planning department to the sales department where she’ll become more involved with sales, quoting and customer relations. Solinka has been with Laser Services since 2004 and is bi-lingual, which will benefit Laser Services’ Spanish-speaking customers.

Manny Rodriguez has worked in the quality department for the last several years and has now been promoted to a position in the planning department where he will be in control of planning and scheduling jobs to ensure they are completed on time. He will also be responsible for evenly distributing jobs through departments and machines, and ensuring proper material requisition and job entry into their MRB system.

Som Chea has been promoted from laser machine operator in the ceramics department to quality inspector. Som has been with Laser Services since 1999 and knows the ins and outs of each department making him an invaluable asset to the company.Vendor-View-button
