Power Amplifier Modules: AWB7127 and AWB7227

July 12, 2012

MK120296Richardson RFPD, Inc. introduces a pair of highly linear and efficient, fully-matched power amplifier modules designed for Picocell, Femtocell, and Customer Premises Equipment (CPE) applications from ANADIGICS, Inc. (ANADIGICS). Both devices are designed for WCDMA, HSDPA and LTE downlink air interfaces operating in the 2.11 to 2.17 GHz band.

They are manufactured using an advanced InGaP HBT MMIC technology offering state-of-the-art reliability, temperature stability, and ruggedness. The self-contained 7 mm x 7 mm x 1.3 mm surface mount packages incorporate RF matching networks optimized for output power, efficiency, and linearity in 50Ω systems.

The power amplifier modules are specifically designed for use in small cell base stations, which are rapidly growing in popularity among service providers as an effective way to expand wireless network capacity and coverage. Both devices offer a combination of high linearity, output power, efficiency and reliability that provides design flexibility and meets the extremely demanding needs of small cell infrastructure architectures.

The AWB7127 power amplifier module offers high power efficiency and low adjacent channel power levels. It delivers up to +24.5 dBm of WCDMA (64 DPCH) power with a typical ACPR of -50 dBc (max is -47dBc), operates from a convenient +4.2 V supply, and provides 30 dB of gain.

The AWB7227 power amplifier Multi-Chip-Module (MCM) delivers up to +27 dBm of WCDMA (64 DPCH) power with a typical ACPR better than -50 dBc (max is -47dBc), operates from a convenient +4.5 V supply, and provides 29 dB of gain.
