IMT Mobile VIEWER brings picture into focus at ALEA 2012

July 10, 2012

Integrated Microwave Technologies LLC (IMT), a business unit within the Vitec Group’s Videocom Division, and a leader in advanced digital microwave systems for MAG (Military, Aerospace & Government) markets, introduces its Mobile VIEWER handheld dual-diversity COFDM HD/SD receiver at ALEA 2012, the Airborne Law Enforcement Association’s 42nd Annual Conference and Exposition(Booth 256).

IMT’s Mobile VIEWER is a ruggedized single band dual diversity COFDM handheld diversity receiver in a durable weather resistant package with integrated antennas. It receives and displays HD and SD video on a built in 9 inch high brightness integrated LCD screen. Mobile VIEWER also features an Ethernet port for streaming video over IP to local and remote decoders. It offers exceptional RF performance with superb H.264 or MPEG-2 auto detect decoding. The display also features an easy-to-use menu-driven interface designed with the user in mind.

The unit is powered through an internal rechargeable battery. With the power consumption less than 15W, the unit’s battery lasts an unprecedented 4 hours. The internal battery is rechargeable within the unit and can be removed and replaced. It features a rugged IP-rated chassis and ergonomic hand grips, enabling it to be used in any weather conditions.

“All of the features of the Mobile VIEWER receiver allow us to provide unequaled value in a high-quality COFDM receiver/monitor for government, law enforcement, fire departments and security applications,” says IMT Divisional Chief Executive Stephen Shpock. “The Mobile VIEWER requires minimal set up to operate and was designed with the user in mind.”

Much more than a COFDM handheld receiver, the Mobile VIEWER can send video over Ethernet to remote software or hardware decoders. This allows multiple remote viewers to monitor the same video simultaneously. For advanced functions such as changing frequency plans, AES decryption keys or unit naming, an easy-to-use administration software package is supplied.

The administration software package also allows users to configure and store up to 32 custom presets. The presets can store as little or as much information as the administrator wishes. Access control ensures that users will not inadvertently corrupt mission-critical settings.

The Mobile VIEWER has optional AES decryption, including BCRYPT, which makes it ideal for applications ranging from public security monitoring to covert surveillance.
