ATW Companies appoints Matthew Underhay as sales manager

June 27, 2012

ATW Companies Inc., a leading provider of custom manufactured metal components and services, announced that it has appointed Matthew Underhay as sales manager for A.T. Wall, its precision stamping and tube drawing subsidiary. Underhay, a successful industry veteran, is responsible for supporting the development of A.T. Wall’s sales and marketing processes by leveraging his technical background and market knowledge.

He will be leading a team of account executives and sales representatives, and working with his colleagues in ATW’s other subsidiaries, to implement an exciting growth plan for A.T. Wall. He will focus on growing A.T. Wall’s footprint in key markets for stamping, pistol magazines, tubing, and waveguide, as well as supporting A.T. Wall’s long-term strategic plan.

Underhay has demonstrated significant technical and business insight in his 15 years of experience in both engineering and sales. He holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, and completed an Electrical Engineering Technologist Program at the RCC School of Electronics Technology in Ontario, Canada.

Most recently, Underhay served as sales and marketing manager at a Connecticut-based manufacturer of flexible and rigid waveguide assemblies and passive microwave components, where he was responsible for leading a global sales team, increasing revenue, and leading the company’s marketing efforts. He previously served as a Hardware Development Engineer in the Radio Frequency Systems division of a publicly traded leader in mobile, fixed, IP and Optics technologies. There he led the product team in the design, development, and production of high volume RF conditioning equipment. Underhay’s earlier experience includes working as an RF filter design technologist, a microwave design technologist, and a manufacturing test and tune technologist.

“Matthew’s experience on both the engineering and sales side of the microwave and electronics industry will be a great asset to the A.T. Wall team” said Tracy MacNeal, Corporate Director of Business Development at ATW. “We’re excited to bring him on board and to grow A.T. Wall’s core markets.”
