ASC Signals's Ka-band antennas to support teleport expansion

May 10, 2012

ASC Signal has been selected to provide a significant number of Ka-band antennas to one of Europe’s major satellite operators to ensure uptime in distributing Pay-TV channels to Europe’s extensive base of satellite television users. Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

ASC Signal will deliver multiple Ka-band gateway antennas that provide highly advanced pointing accuracy and reliability, a key technology that ASC provides to this major market and to Ka-band users globally. The antennas feature a uniquely designed sub-reflector tracking (SRT) technology which provides a higher level of tracking accuracy and gain stability not typically achievable by most antennas in this category. This latest installation, like hundreds of other Ka-band gateways used by ASC Signal’s customers throughout Europe and around the globe, extends ASC’s relationships with the major commercial satellite operators worldwide.

“Every month, ASC Signal manufactures and delivers large numbers of Ka-band antennas and systems to support critical applications in commercial and defense markets worldwide,” said Keith Buckley, president and chief executive officer of ASC Signal. “Many of the world’s largest commercial satellite networks and operators rely upon ASC’s advanced, Ka-band technology. Our Ka-band and multiband systems that include Ka-band have been operating in teleports, remote sites and transportable locations across Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and the Americas for nearly a decade,” he added.
