Robust Digital Controller is Ideal for Space and Military Subsystem

Chelmsford, MA, October 7, 2010 – Hittite Microwave Corporation, the world class supplier of complete MMIC based solutions for communication & military markets, announces the release of a hermetically packaged controller within its Interface Product Line. This new digital interface product is ideal for applications within the digital control sections of military EW, test & measurement equipment, and multi-function assemblies from DC to 110 GHz.

The HMC677G32 6-Bit Serial/Parallel Switch Driver/Controller is a multi-function BiCMOS control interface IC which is ideal for driving the gates of FET and pHEMT based MMIC control devices. This unique IC can be used to simplify the control of microwave and millimeterwave transmit/receive modules, military subsystems, and multi-throw/multi-port test and measurement equipment. The HMC677G32 accepts TTL/CMOS logic data, in either serial or parallel format, and can drive up to 6 complementary sets of parallel outputs.

The HMC677G32 provides additional functionality such as a power-up state selection, adjustable output voltage levels, and a latched parallel input mode which allows multiple switch driver/controllers to share a common parallel data bus. The HMC677G32 is ideal for controlling MMIC based digital phase shifters, digital attenuators, digital variable gain amplifiers, and switching matrices embedded in complex microwave and millimeterwave assemblies.

The HMC677G32 is housed in a robust, hermetically sealed SMT package, and is ideal for driving the control ports of many of Hittite’s broad line of control component die, SMT and modules which cover frequencies from DC to 110 GHz.

Samples and evaluation PC boards for all SMT packaged products are available from stock and can be ordered via the company’s e-commerce site or via direct purchase order. Released data sheets are available on-line by clicking the link below our logo on this page.
