Valpey Fisher Ships Ultra Miniature TCXO for Wireless Communication Systems

September 15, 2011

Valpey Fisher Corp., a provider of high performance integrated products for timing and frequency control, introduces its latest product offering -- the VFTX250. Valpey Fisher calls this the industry’s smallest size Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator (TCXO). It offers outstanding performance for wireless communication systems. The device delivers frequency stability of ±0.5 ppm and is also available across the industrial temperature range of -40° to +85°C in a miniaturized 2.5 x 2.0 mm SMD ceramic package.

The VFTX250 TCXO offers output frequencies up to 52 MHz in the low power clipped sine wave output with supply voltages ranging from 2.8 to 2.5 V. Typical current consumption is as low as 1.1 mA and to minimize battery drain, the device also has an output enable/disable option. Its ultra miniature size allows for efficient use of board space and product designs expansion.

Where power consumption and product size are critical, the VFTX250 addresses the demand while providing the frequency and stability with excellent performance for wireless and portable applications, such as hand-held test equipment, Portable Navigation Devices, wireless meter reading and RFID.

“Today’s demanding wireless applications require smaller package size, lower jitter and little power consumption,” says John Fortune, Director of Sales and Marketing for Valpey Fisher. “The VFTX250 is the latest in Valpey Fisher’s line of oscillator products that offer outstanding performance in a miniature package."
