Precision Introduces Ultra Low Noise, Ultra Stable OCXOs

September 28, 2010

Precision Devices has announced the OCXO-510, an ultra low noise and ultra stable crystal oscillator (OCXO).

The OCXO-510 series has a phase noise floor of -168 dBc at 10 kHz. It offers excellent stability, and operates at a precision of only 0.0002 ppm (or 0.2 ppb – parts per billion) over a temperature range of 0 to +70°C or 0.0005 ppm at -20° to +70°C.

The new device’s low noise and high stability make it well suited to demanding high-end applications, including telecoms base stations, PLL references for telecoms systems, microwave communications, radar and GPS.

The OCXO-510’s package measures 50.8 x 50.8 mm. It provides a sine wave output at a frequency of 10 MHz.

Precision Devices is also introducing a second new OCXO at European Microwave Week; the OCXO-400 series are miniature oscillators for applications where size is important, measuring only 20.3 x 20.3 mm. The OCXO-400 series parts operate at frequencies from 8.192 to 20 MHz, and provide high precision of 0.002 ppm over a temperature range from -40° to +70°C.

At the exhibition, Precision Devices will be showing its range of frequency control products, including sinewave OCXOs and high-end temperature compensated crystal oscillators (TCXO) targeted at microwave applications.
