Cadence Design Systems announced it completed the acquisition of AWR Corporation from National Instruments (NI) yesterday, which includes AWR’s 110 employees.

Cadence paid $160 million in cash for AWR, which NI acquired in 2011.

When the deal was announced on December 2, Cadence said it would integrate AWR’s RF EDA technology with its own platforms, extending its RF/microwave capabilities to support 5G, aerospace and defense, automotive and wireless applications.

Anirudh Devgan, president of Cadence, said, “The addition of AWR’s talent and technologies will enable us to provide more integrated and optimized RF design solutions.”
