Ted Rappaport, founding director of NYU WIRELESS and a leading proponent of using the millimeter wave spectrum for wireless communications, discusses the FCC's recent rulemaking actions and technology developments that are paving the way to 5G.
Anritsu Co. announces it has met the GCF Test Platform Approval Criteria (TPAC) and its LTE-Advanced RF/RRM Conformance Test System (CTS) ME7873LA is the world’s first GCF-approved platform providing both RF and RRM TPACs for three downlink carrier aggregation (3DL CA) RF Conformance Tests. Anritsu holds the largest number of GCF TPACs for WI-231, enabling 3CC CA certification of devices for GCF. This leadership position was reached based on approvals gained at the recent CAG#46 meeting held April 26-27, 2016 in New Jersey.
Anokiwave, Inc., an innovative company providing highly integrated core IC solutions for mmW markets and AESA based solutions, announced it has achieved ISO 9001:2008 certification after a thorough analysis of its management and organizational processes by NQA, an independent, third party registrar.
Agile Microwave Technology Inc., has passed the rigorous standards for quality management systems to earn certification to ISO standard, ISO 9001:2008 for the design and manufacture of RF and microwave circuits, hybrids, modules, MCMs, multi-function modules and MMIC assemblies.
Anritsu Co. announces that its ME7873LA LTE-Advanced RF Conformance Test System has obtained the world's first LTE 3CA PTCRB certification. By obtaining PTCRB certification for 3CA, the ME7873LA supports deployment of LTE 3CA downlink, expected to be available in North America by the end of the year.
The U.S. Army has awarded Raytheon Co. a $36 million contract to fund the certification and testing of a significant upgrade to the AN/ARC-231 Multi-Mode Communications System. The upgraded systems will provide the highest level of security for voice and data communications for more than 7,000 rotary, fixed wing and unmanned Army platforms – including Apaches, Blackhawks, Chinooks and Gray Eagles.
Peregrine Semiconductor Corp., founder of RF SOI (silicon on insulator) and pioneer of advanced RF solutions, announces that it has been awarded qualified manufacturers list (QML) certification, class Q (military) and V (space). After a thorough evaluation, Peregrine demonstrated to the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Land and Maritime that it fully complies with MIL-PRF-38535, the performance specification used by the Department of Defense for monolithic integrated circuits that operate in severe environments.
FIME's EMV(R) RF test tool, which incorporates Keysight Technologies' Contactless Test System, is the first to achieve EMVCo qualification to perform Level 1 PCD analogue testing on contactless terminals. The tool confirms that the communication between the terminal and a contactless card, or near field communication (NFC)-enabled smartphone, is in line with EMVCo's EMV specification 2.3 requirements. Contactless terminal and mobile point of sale (mPOS) manufacturers can use the tool to speed up their EMV Level 1 analogue approval process.
