DARPA's LongShot program, which is developing an air-launched unmanned air vehicle (UAV) with the ability to employ multiple air-to-air weapons, has awarded contracts to General Atomics, Lockheed Martin and Northrop Grumman for preliminary Phase I design work.

The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) has awarded Raytheon Co. two contract modifications totaling a combined $5 million in support of the Arrays at Commercial Timescales (ACT) program. ACT is focused on developing technology that enables rapidly upgradable and widely deployable radar array architectures. The awards are the result of a competitive down select process after which DARPA chose Raytheon for the next phase of both programs.

Raytheon Co. announced today that under the DARPA Microsystems Technology Office (MTO) Wide Bandgap Semiconductor Program, the company has systematically matured Gallium Nitride (GaN) from basic material to transistors, Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs), Transmit/Receive (T/R) Modules and finally Transmit/Receive Integrated Multichannel Modules (TRIMMs), enabling game changing system performance for the DoD.  

Rockwell Collins has been selected by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to develop a direct conversion digital receiver based on photonic technology. The three-year contract for the DISARMER program is valued up to $8.5 million.
