Nokia announced it has signed a five-year deal with AT&T to deploy the mobile operator’s C-Band network in parts of the U.S., enabling AT&T to provide cutting-edge 5G services with the right mix of coverage and capacity. 

FirstNet®, America’s public safety network, now covers more than 2.71 million square miles. As public safety’s network partner, AT&T, has moved quickly to bring more coverage, boost capacity and drive new capabilities for first responders and the communities they serve—rural, urban and tribal.

AT&T Inc. was the winning bidder for spectrum licenses covering more than 99 percent of the U.S. population following the close of FCC Auction 103. The company’s winning bids will allow continued improvements and advancements to its wireless network.

AT&T and GE announced they have signed a global alliance agreement to allow GE machines to connect to the AT&T network and cloud, creating the first highly-secure wireless communications system for GE’s “Industrial Internet.”

LTE represents an opportunity for operators to increase revenue by pricing the new service at a premium. However, the successful LTE operators in the USA are not following that strategy: continued traffic growth from additional usage and multiple devices is encouraging users towards more expensive plans, which is resulting in consistently increasing ARPU.
