Tektronix Inc. unveiled its next generation of arbitrary waveform generators that offer up to 50 GS/s sample rate performance. The new AWG70000 Series supports a wide range of demanding signal generation requirements.
Aeroflex Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Aeroflex Holding Corp., announced a new test system based on its PXI 3000 Series modular instrumentation, which has been designed to offer measurements over a 160 MHz bandwidth at operating frequencies up to 6 GHz. The new system is particularly suited for making R&D, design verification, and production measurements on wireless LAN (WLAN) devices based on the IEEE 802.11ac standard, extending Aeroflex's market-leading 802.11ac measurement capability in PXI to cover the optional 160 MHz bandwidth.
ABI Research expects sales of base station processors to grow at 17 percent annually and reach $1.1 billion in 2017 driven by the growth in compact format femto-, pico-, and microcell small cell basestations, which will account for the majority of the processor market in 2017. With macrocells declining at 13 percent per year over the next 5 years, and microcells growing at a modest 7 percent the large growth in picocells and outdoor femtocells will consume the majority of next generation base station processors.
Tahoe RF Semiconductor announces that it has licensed the latest GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) technology from Stanford University for the development of their next generation low-power, low-cost universal GNSS IC. The technology employs unique RF subsampling techniques that enable the receiver to support all the GNSS bands and be implemented on a single RF CMOS IC Technology
