Passive Plus Inc. now offers an extended-values for the traditional Hi-Q high power, low ESR/ESL, low noise, high self-resonance ultra-stable performance capacitors. Usually used for wireless broadcasting equipment, mobile base stations, GPS portables, MRI coils and radar, these capacitors are 100 percent RoHS and offered in magnetic and non-magnetic terminations. These capacitors are designed and manufactured to meet the requirements for MIL-PRF-55681 and MIL-PRF-123.
Linear Technology Corp. introduces the LTC4020, an advanced high voltage power manager and multi-chemistry battery charger designed to efficiently transfer power from a variety of sources to a system power supply rail and a battery. The device offers precision charge current regulation, ±0.5% charge voltage regulation and operates across a wide 4.5 V to 55 V input voltage range compatible with a variety of different input voltage sources.
Vishay Intertechnology Inc. extended its VJ X8R series of surface-mount multilayer ceramic chip capacitors (MLCCs) for high-temperature applications. To save board space, the devices are now offered in the 0402 case size. In addition, the 0603 and 0805 case sizes have been enhanced with a higher voltage rating of 100 V.
AEM Inc. announces a hirel-qualified Sn/Pb (tin/lead) conversion process designed to mitigate the formation of tin whiskers in surface-mount components. The AEM process eliminates potential damage to sensitive electronic devices caused by conventional hot-solder dippingwhile ensuring that converted component terminations contain a minimum of 5 percent Pb as verified by SEM/EDS and XRF inspection methods.
Coaxicom’s innovative 1 W 3900X series terminations are designed to minimize reflected power that often impedes transmission quality. Used across a spectrum of multi-port microwave devices including directional couplers, isolators and high-power transmitter applications, terminations absorb energy and prevent RF signals from reflecting back from open-ended or unused circuit ports.
