Agilent Technologies Inc. and the Wireless Institute at the University of Notre Dame announced that they will establish a collaborative research initiative aimed at developing the next generation of multiple-input, multiple-output wireless technologies.
EM Solutions has won a tender with Tokyo-based partner Jepico Corp. to provide its Ka-Band Satellite on the Move (SOTM) platform to the Japanese Government’s National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT). NICT is Japan’s national research institute for information and communications (http://www.nict.go.jp/en/index.html).
Aeroflex Ltd. and China Mobile Research Institute (CMRI) announced that the Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between CMRI and Aeroflex for a co-operation covering both LTE and LTE-A technologies.
A paper describing the conceptual design and technology behind the TanDEM-X satellite system for mapping the Earth’s topography with high resolution and high accuracy, authored by a team of researchers from the German Aerospace Center’s Microwaves and Radar Institute, is being honored by IEEE with the 2012 IEEE W.R.G. Baker Award.
