Oven Industries is now offering a high powered temperature controller mounted on a heat sink that creates a seamless transition between heating and cooling devices, as it serves as the commander of thermoelectric modules. With a bi-directional or unidirectional H-bridge configuration, the controller has many benefits.
The market for disposable wireless Medical Body Area Network (MBAN) sensors within professional healthcare is in its earliest stages, but key foundations to support adoption are now in place. There is also tremendous potential for adoption. So much so that by 2018, close to 5 million disposable sensors will be shipped even though MBAN sensors will have still barely penetrated the addressable market.
Aeroflex Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Aeroflex Holding Corp., announced that it has added support for Bird Technologies' through-line Bird Wideband Power Sensors (WPS) to the industry leading 3550 Hand-held Radio Test System. The addition of the Bird 5017 and support for other Bird power sensors allows the 3550 to improve measurement accuracies for in field test applications.
China-based manufacturers of cellphones and tablets in 2012 more than doubled their share of purchases of microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) motion sensors, reflecting the rising prominence of the companies in the global market, according to an IHS iSuppli MEMS Topical Report from information and analytics provider IHS.
Lake Shore is now taking orders for immediate shipment for a new 4-channel option card for its Model 336 and Model 350 temperature controllers. These best-selling models are used in low-temperature physics research in university and commercial labs around the world. The new, inexpensive card increases the utility of the Model 336 and Model 350 controllers by doubling the number of inputs.
Fast, precise, highly linear – users working with a frequency range over 67 GHz now also benefit from the unique features of the thermal power sensors from Rohde & Schwarz. The new R&S NRP-Z58 is the world's first power sensor that covers the frequency range continuously from DC to 110 GHz.
Aeroflex Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Aeroflex Holding Corp., announced that it has added support for Bird Technologies' through-line Bird Wideband Power Sensors (WPS) to the industry leading 3550 Hand-held Radio Test System.
New technology from innovative product development firm Cambridge Consultants can accurately detect someone’s location indoors when GPS drops out. A number of sensors and a custom algorithm determine the location, with an accuracy of within approximately 1 percent of the distance travelled. Yet the technology uses low-power, low-cost sensors and the device concept is small enough to clip on a belt. It also doesn’t need any existing internal infrastructure.
The Navy's Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense System scored another hit for the Missile Defense Agency on the Pacific Missile Range, marking the first live-fire intercept of a medium-range ballistic missile using space-based sensors.
STMicroelectronics, a global semiconductor leader serving customers across the spectrum of electronics applications, announced it has shipped three billion MEMS sensors to date.
