Title:Countering the UAS Challenge

Date: June 28, 2017

Time: 8am PT/ 11am ET

Sponsored by: Rohde & Schwarz

Presented by: Asif Anwar

Abstract: The success of unmanned aerial systems in providing real-time information to military commanders has contributed to both mission effectiveness and in protecting personnel. Despite budgetary pressures, an expansion of the mission envelopes will help drive continued demand for UAS platforms. However, the expansion of commercial UAS use brings a disruptive potential, intentional or otherwise, as well their implementation in the asymmetric threat arsenal. Combatting these potential threats will require a new front in electromagnetic spectrum operations using a combination of radar and electronic warfare, potentially in conjunction with other emerging military system technologies.
